FOSTER CARE MINISTRY

Together we join with the Church around the world to remember God’s heart for vulnerable children and families in our community.
 
 

FOSTER CARE MINISTRY AT FIRST SOCIAL CIRCLE (FBCSC)

  • Resource Room – open to all foster and adoptive families the 2nd Saturday of each month from 10:00 am – 12:00pm.
  • Hosting – We help host Foster Parent Association meetings quarterly for foster families to receive continuing education.
  • Events:  Back to School Bash (Summer), Breakfast with Santa (Winter)
  • Adopt-A-Child (Christmas) – We provide Christmas gifts for children in foster care.
  • Partners – We partner with several local foster and adoptive agencies as well as child advocacy centers.  

 WAYS TO GET INVOLVED

  • Serve one Saturday a month in our Resource Room
  • Serve at one of our foster care events
  • Donate items when needed for Care Portal requests and special requests from DFCS
  • Donate financially towards the Foster Care Ministry
  • Pray for the ministry, children and foster families

 WAYS TO PRAY

  • For the ministry – Pray that God would continue to sustain & bless the  foster care ministry at our church. Pray that servant workers would remain steadfast and encouraged and that new workers would answer the call to serve in this area
  • For the children – pray for the children’s physical, emotional, & spiritual healing. Pray they feel loved by their biological families, their caregivers, and God. Pray that they feel safe expressing themselves and making new connections. Pray that God would bring healing and restore families & relationships.
  • For the foster and adoptive parents – Pray for the foster & adoptive parents to be strengthened, encouraged & for needs to be met.  Pray for continued protection from attacks of the enemy.  Pray that God will give them wisdom, patience, and love as they support the children.

Our Foster Care Resource Room is an emergency closet for foster families. It is open the 2nd Saturday of every month from 10:00am – 12:00pm.  If you need additional assistance contact our church office (office@firstsocialcircle.com/770-464-3474) and someone from the church will reach out to you.
